Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Dicta collects when you use the app and this website, how it is used, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, or the identifier Sign in with Apple provides. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes by our authentication provider.
• Profile: your display name, username, bio, profile photo and cover photo. Photos are re-saved before upload, which removes location and other embedded details.
• What you create: your quotes and their card designs, background photos you upload, comments, likes, saves, follows, and the reports and blocks you make.
• Notifications: if you turn on notifications, a push token for your device, used only to send them. It is removed when you sign out, and you choose which kinds you get in Settings → Notifications.
• Technical data: our hosting providers keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, to run and protect the service.

What is public

Your profile, quotes, comments, likes and follower counts are visible to other people, and a quote you share as a link can be viewed on this website. Your saves, blocks, reports and notifications are private to you.

How we use it

We use your data only to run Dicta: to show your cards and profile, deliver notifications, keep your account secure, and review reported content. Dicta shows no ads, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell your data.

Who processes it

Dicta runs on Supabase, which provides the database, sign-in and file storage, and on Vercel, which hosts this website. Push notifications are delivered through Expo’s push service and Apple Push Notification service, and emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, welcome) through Resend. They process data only to provide those services.

Sharing to other apps

When you share a card to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X or anywhere else, the image and link go to that app only because you asked, and its own privacy policy applies from there.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, profile, quotes, comments, likes, follows, saves and uploaded photos.

Children

Dicta is not intended for children under 13.
